In addition to being a member of the Faculty of Advocates, Steven Walker is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a committee member and events convenor of the Scottish Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an ad hoc lecturer on the prestigious and internationally acclaimed LL.M programme in International Commercial Arbitration at the Universities of Edinburgh and Dundee.

Steven Walker was also an Associate in the Corporate & Commercial Litigation Department in the London office of the Premier International Law Firm, Allen & Overy. He was involved in raising the first ICSID arbitration proceedings under the Energy Charter Treaty. He has extensive experience in ICC, LCIA, AAA and ICSID arbitrations as well as numerous other institutional arbitrations and ad hoc arbitrations worldwide. He also lectures and provides courses around the world.

Steven Walker is also a Specialist Accredited International Commercial Mediator for the International Resource Industry.

He was part of the advisory and drafting team for the Scottish Arbitration Council led by Lord Dervaird that drafted the Scottish Arbitration Bill 2002.
